One week to go for the much-awaited EuroSup Sardinia event, the European Championship of
Stand Up Paddle Racing and SUP Wave which will take place in Torregrande (Oristano) from 4th
to 9th September.
The strongest athletes in these disciplines from all over the continent will compete for the European
Champion title in the stunning backdrop of the Sinis Peninsula.
To date 10 nations have confirmed their participation: Denmark, England, France, Ireland, Portugal,
Spain, Sweden, Wales, Germany and of course Italy.
France, holds the Vice-World Champion title, gained at the ISA World SUP and Paddleboard
Championship 2017, and will turn up with a roster of true champions: Alexis Deniel, Benoit
Carpentier, Caroline Angibaud, Martin Vitry, Olivia Piana, Tom Auber. Carpentier holds a world
bronze for SUP Wave whereas Olivia Piana took home the world championship bronze both in the
Long Distance and Technical Race.
From Denmark Casper Steinfath, World Champion of Sprint Race and bronze in Technical Race.
Then of course, the Italian national Team, with Leonard Nika, Paolo Marconi, Caterina Stenta and
Laura Dal Pont all confirmed, and Tommaso Pampinella, Riccardo Rossi, Alessandro Onofri and
Margherita Boschetti called to be part of the national Team.
